On Tuesday, 22 June, the Park West Lions awarded two college scholarships for $1,000 each. After recognizing our high school scholars, several awards were presented.
President Doug Cross presented Lion Phil Smith with the Melvin Jones Award for his continued service to the Park West Lions. Lions Clubs International recognizes outstanding individuals by bestowing on them the award that is named for its founder, Melvin Jones. This Fellowship Award is the highest form of recognition and embodies humanitarian ideas consistent with the nature and purpose of Lionism.
President Doug Cross presented Lion Maxine Evans with the Lion of the Year Award for outstanding service as building manager.
Outgoing president Doug Cross presented Evelyn Guiliani the gavel as incoming president.
